The Story Behind Joilisse Deodorant: A Personal Journey to Relief and Protection
Joilisse Deodorant was born out of a deeply personal need—a need for relief, protection, and a natural
solution that simply didn’t exist on the market. As the creator of Joilisse, I understand all too well the
frustration and pain that comes with living with Hidradenitis Suppurvita (HS). For years, I struggled with
this chronic skin condition, which caused painful, recurrent cysts/boils under my arms. The situation was
made worse by the very deodorants I relied on to stay fresh throughout the day.
Most deodorant brands, while effective at controlling odor, congested my pores and led to severe
irritation and inflammation. These products trapped harmful bacteria beneath the skin, causing painful
flare-ups and worsening my HS. Every application became a gamble, with the fear that another cyst /boil
would develop, bringing with it discomfort and insecurity. I knew there had to be a better
way—something that would not only control odor but also protect my sensitive skin from the very
issues these products were causing.
